Fairy Tale Lies by DK Marie

Title: Fairy Tale Lies
Series: Opposites Attract #1
Author: DK Marie
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: June 3, 2019

Wendy’s Book Blog - “This is a well written story which is humorous, entertaining and steamy. I was intrigued and hooked throughout and recommend for all.”

Amazon Review - “A wonderfully simple but beautiful love story!”

Greta and Jacob aren’t looking for love, but when they meet their attraction is white hot, melting away all self-restraint. Both times.

The first is a stormy spring afternoon, spent indulging in each other’s bodies. They parted ways convinced they’re nothing more than an erotic chapter in the other’s life. However, when they unexpectedly meet again, Jacob isn’t willing to let Greta slip away. He convinces her to give them a chance.

Lust turns to love, but resentments fester. People close to Greta repeatedly interfere until Jacob’s convinced Greta will never see him as anything more than a blue-collar nobody. A temporary indulgence. Greta fears she isn’t strong enough to stand against both her family’s scorn and Jacob’s growing anger.

As tempers flare and passions deepen, Greta and Jacob have to decide if their love is strong enough to shatter the cynicism and misconceptions of what it means to be each other’s fairytale ending.

DK Marie’s a voracious reader. Her number one love is romance and devours any and all of its genres, but also enjoys thrillers, horror, and non-fiction. Basically, if there are words on a page and a spectacular story, she’s diving in, heart and soul.

However, there’s one thing she loves even more, and that’s writing her own steamy contemporary romances. They’re a mixture of heart, heat, and humor. Brimming with confident heroines and kind heroes, all living, loving, and lusting in and around her hometown of Detroit, Michigan.

When not falling in love with her characters, DK Marie is laughing, relaxing, and planning her next adventure with her family. Okay, and also drinking boatloads of coffee, chatting on social media, and dreaming about her next travel destination.

Her voice wobbles when she whispers, “Closer, Aziah.
“I can’t,” I whisper back.
Her lips form a frown and the wrinkle is back between her
eyes. “Why?”
“Because I don’t want to hurt you.”
Some of the tension leaves her, but her body’s still too
stiff for my liking. The fear isn’t as pronounced in her eyes, but it lingers.
“You would never hurt me.”
“Never physically,” I concede. “But being close to you will
She closes her eyes and lets out a slow breath before
opening them again. Her hand falls back to the bed.
“I don’t want to live like this anymore. I don’t want to
fear being touched. I don’t want to freeze when someone gets too close. You’re
one of the only ones I trust to help me.” She swallows. “Please.”
Fucking goddammit to hell. I can’t say no to her.
I close the rest of the space between us. Instead of taking
her hand, I drop to my knees beside the bed and sit back on my heels. Her gaze
follows me, and I warily watch her in return.
Time stands still as we stare at each other. I won’t make
the first move. I’m not touching her, but I’m still giving her what she wants
by being close enough for her to touch me.
After several tense moments, her hand hesitantly lifts again.
I close my eyes at the first whisper of her fingertips against my face. It’s
warm and smooth and oddly comforting. Her nails gently scrape across the
bristles on my cheek. I’m not used to such tender touches. I either don’t let
people touch me or I demand something harsh because that’s what I like.
Her fingers move up to my temple and stop. “Why do you have
blood on your temple?”
I blink open my eyes and find hers trained on the dried
blood I forgot was there. I should have washed it off before she woke up.
“It’s from my hand,” I answer quietly, afraid to break the
spell we currently seem to be under.
Her eyes flicker down to the hand on my thigh. The one I
unknowingly gauged in her presence earlier. I silently curse myself for being
so stupid.
“What was in your hand? What were you using to hurt
Against my better judgement, I answer honestly. “A key.”
Her confused gaze jumps to mine. “A key to what?”
I’m not ready to answer that question yet, so I shake my
head. Now that she’s here, she’ll know soon enough what the key unlocks. She,
more than anyone, has the right to know.
Thankfully, she doesn’t press me for an answer.
Her fingers move slowly over my forehead and down my other
temple, across my cheek and down to my chin. Her expression is one of awe and
“I don’t like it when people touch me. When they get close,
I shut down. Deanna and Mick never touched me in the ten years I was with them.
In any way. They were always so nice to me, but I never let them get close,
physically or emotionally. I couldn’t stand it. I love my brother, and I know
he’d never do anything to me, but I’m even scared of him getting too close. I
haven’t willingly touched anyone in ten years. You’re the only one.” Her
fingers slide through my hair and a shiver races down my spine. “I wonder why
that is.”

Llewellyn's Little Book of Spirit Animals by Melissa Alvarez

This book to me is a condensed version of Spirit Animals. It does give you lots of information and a good understanding of what a spirit animal is, what their messages are, how to find out what your spirit animal is and topics like that. It is a very interesting read if you have ever been interested in Spirit animals. I do suggest if you want to fully understand more about Spirit Animals find a full book instead of the condensed version in this book. That being said it is still a great book.

You Are Psychic: Develop Your Natural Intuition Through Your Psychic Type by Sherrie Dillard

I have always heard everyone is psychic in some way. I have always seen things, or known things, or felt things about places, objects, and definitely people. I just never knew exactly how to put this thought, feelings, or visions to work or in a useful manor. I have told strangers about themselves, basically read them without even touching them in the past. I've gotten some pretty shocked looks by doing this. I have felt stuff by picking up an object. So I know I do have abilities, and I have them my whole life. So I have been reading books lately to rain in these abilities and to make sense of the visions, thought, and feelings.

This book is written with the beginner in mind, but does not make you feel like a beginner or an idiot.. It is written in straight forward easy to understand language. It does not give you outlandish ideas or make crazy promises to you if you read the book. It does give you tools and exercises to explore your own abilities. A lot of the things in this books I have read in other books already, but that just makes me feel like I am getting more of the right information is others are saying the same things.

This is also one of those book you read it once and keep it around for a reference in the future. Instead of discarding it.

Thomas W. Schaller, Architect of Light Thomas Schaller

Thomas W Schaller started out as an architect and turned into a famous Watercolor painter. This book is filled with 150 of his artworks. These paintings are just beautiful even the ones with very drab type settings. You also get to learn his story as you flip through this book. I loved this book. As I looked at the pictures I would envision what was going on in the painting, what Thomas Schaller might of been thinking as he painted them. IT truly was an experience to look this book.
