Valentine Countdown Blitz The Stranger She Married by Donna Hatch Day 11

Donna Hatch is the author of the best-selling “Rogue Hearts Series,” and a winner of writing awards such as The Golden Quill and the International Digital Award. A hopeless romantic and adventurer at heart, she discovered her writing passion at the tender age of 8 and has been listening to those voices ever since. She has become a sought-after workshop presenter, and also juggles freelance editing, multiple volunteer positions, and most of all, her six children (seven, counting her husband). A native of Arizona who recently transplanted to the Pacific Northwest, she and her husband of over twenty years are living proof that there really is a happily ever after.

When her parents and twin brother die within weeks of each other, Alicia and her younger sister are left in the hands of an uncle who has brought them all to financial and social ruin. Desperate to save her family from debtor's prison, Alicia vows to marry the first wealthy man to propose. She meets the dashing Lord Amesbury, and her heart whispers that this is the man she is destined to love, but his tainted past may forever stand in their way. Her choices in potential husbands narrow to either a scarred cripple with the heart of a poet, or a handsome rake with a deadly secret.

Cole Amesbury is tormented by his own ghosts, and believes he is beyond redemption, yet he cannot deny his attraction for the girl whose genuine goodness touches the heart he'd thought long dead. He fears the scars in his soul cut so deeply that he may never be able to offer Alicia a love that is true. When yet another bizarre mishap threatens her life, Alicia suspects the seemingly unrelated accidents that have plagued her loved ones are actually a killer's attempt to exterminate every member of her family. Despite the threat looming over her, learning to love the stranger she married may pose the greatest danger to her heart. And Cole must protect Alicia from the killer who has been exterminating her family before she is the next target.

This romantic story of loss and betrayal, forgiveness and redemption, and strangers marrying, will leave you laughing, crying, and swooning. Sprinkled liberally with suspense, mystery, and heart-melting kisses, this is not your ordinary historical tale of an arranged marriage nor of redeeming the rakes. Fans of Victorian and Regency Eras as well as those seeking clean and wholesome romance with plenty of chemistry, not to mention the redemptive power of love, will love this story!

Dance with a duke, outwit pirates, save a kingdom, and fall in love. Believe in happily ever after.

Q&A With the Author :

1.     Why do you choose to write romance? Do you write any other genres?

I write romance for two reasons. The fist reason is because a true romance, unlike other genres, guarantees that the story will end well. So many other genres can have sad or bittersweet endings, and I need a book to end leaving me hopeful. The second reason I write romance is because they usually have good character development. Usually, by the end of the story, the characters have overcome at least one major character flaw that allows them to defeat the villain, solve the crime, or whatever it is depending on the subgenre, and who, by the ending love and accept another special someone, who, in turn, loves and accepts them. A romance should feel wrapped up, and the characters should be better, stronger people by the end. Plus, you know, in love. Really, it’s all about hoping tomorrow will be a better day.

2.     How long does it take you to write a book, typically?

That depends on the book—the subgenre, the length of the story, and how easily it all comes together as well as what’s going on with my personal life. Sometimes my family needs don’t leave time for writing, and also I can’t write if I’m overly stressed or if I have fallen into a depression, which is a chronic battle. Once, I wrote, revised, and edited a novella in less than a month. A couple of novels took me years to complete and be ready for publication. Sometimes I write them straight through; other times, I set them aside to work on other projects. The only thing that really guarantees that I’ll finish a project within a specific time is having a contract deadline. I always meet those even if I think it’s going to kill me.

3.     Since a lot of romance books show both male and female perspectives, share with us the most difficult thing about writing the perspective of the opposite gender?

One of my biggest challenges is making sure I hold true to each character’s voice for the chapters or sections written in their point of view so the chapters don’t all feel like they could be told from anyone’s perspective. I want to make sure the perceptions and descriptions are worded in a way that holds true to that character’s personality.

4.     What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?

I like to write to instrumental music such light classical—harp or piano in particular—or New Age. I can’t write to lyrics or a drumbeat, and I don’t like silence.

5.     Tell us a bit about a future project you are working on? Do you have any little sneak peeks you can share?

I’m almost finished with book 5 of my Rogue Hearts Series, Not a Fine Gentleman, and hope to have it released this summer. It’s about Lady Margaret who is accused of murdering her estranged husband.

6.     What is the most romantic date you have ever been on? Or, what is your idea of the perfect Valentine Date?

One of my most memorable dates was when my husband took me to an Italian restaurant that had waiters who went around serenading the diners. Then, after dinner, we took a Venetian-style gondola ride down a canal. The lights along the waterway reflected in the gently rippling waves and a sultry breeze carried the scent of desert flowers. It was lovely and so romantic.

Excerpt

Josie couldn’t stop her response. His words had unlocked
something deep within her. She couldn’t remember a time when she could
literally lean into someone, and she reveled in it. Her arms lifted to
encompass his broad shoulders. God, he felt so hard, so good and strong. Trying
to get even closer, she lifted on her toes, and gasped in pain.
He must have felt it in their kiss, and correctly
interpreted it. Sam broke away and looked down at her. In one quick moment, he
lifted her in his arms and then she found herself settled in his lap on her
sofa.
She looked up at him in wonder. “You’ll hurt yourself doing
that,” she admonished.
“Baby, you’re just a little thing,” Sam said.
Josie snorted in disbelief.
“Okay, you’re lush and curvy, just the way I love a woman. I
can’t stand women who are going to blow away at the first strong wind.”
She snorted.  He was
so full of it.
“I’m serious.
Compared to me you are a little thing and you’re the perfect
size, with the absolute perfect body. Do you understand me?”
It was difficult not to buy into what he was saying when the
evidence of his arousal pressed against her butt.  She made a tiny move against him and he
groaned.
“You’re so hot and sexy, and you’re going to end up killing
me.”  His hands brushed up the sides of
her arms, her neck, then ended up cupping her flushed cheeks.  “Are you finally hearing me?”  He gave her a wicked smile.  “Are you at least feeling me?”
She laughed.
“Exactly,” he groaned.
“Your body turns me on, baby.”
Josie looked up at him and saw the absolute truth on his
face. She turned away and nuzzled his neck, not wanting him to see the sheen of
tears in her eyes. This man who made her blood sizzle was turning her
self-image upside down. A huge weight lifted from her heart.  He held her for long moments, then finally
started to whisper.
“I know we’re going to talk about our injuries, but can you
please tell me how such a beautiful woman could think she needed to hide in
clothes four times her size? How she could think that she wouldn’t have men falling
at her feet?” Josie couldn’t help giggling at the outrageous statement.
“I’m serious, baby. At least a quarter of your male
customers are coming into Sweet Dreams Desserts not just for the pastries but
to see the sights.”
Oh Lord, I could fall in love with this man.
Sam tilted her head so she was forced to look at him. “Let
me guess, it was some guy who convinced you that you, you were less than
perfect.”
She shook her head, then hid her face in his neck.  “Not just a guy.”
“Look at me, honey.  Tell
me,” he urged.
She looked up.
“Actually, it started way earlier than that. My mom was one of those
women who would blow away in the wind, and she was constantly harping on my
weight. So, it’s pretty much ingrained that I’m fat.”
“It sounds like she had some issues.”
Josie’s laugh sounded sad even to her ears.  “Issues.
Yeah.  You could call them that.”
“And the guy?” Sam prompted.
“It was a few years ago.
He seemed okay.  I thought he
liked me.  I really did, Sam.”  Josie struggled to keep her voice
steady.  “Anyway, when we finally got
ready to sleep together, I guess you could say he wasn’t all that impressed
with my body.”
She stopped talking.
Sam stroked his hand down her back.
She was acutely aware that he could feel the outline of her corset.  Therein laid the problem.  “Russell insisted the lights be turned
off.”  Josie stared at a point over Sam’s
shoulder so she didn’t have to see pity in his eyes.
“That guy is an idiot.
You’re gorgeous.”
“You don’t know,” she protested.
“You forget, I’ve seen you.
And I liked everything I saw.”
Once again, he turned her face, and she ended up looking up
at him, and what she saw was anger.
For just an instant, she was scared, and he must have seen
it.
“No, Josie, I’m not angry at you.  I’m angry at your mother, and that
asshole.  Trust me when I say that I
completely understand a parent belittling you, boy do I get that, but what I can’t
wrap my head around is understanding the asshole’s issues. If I was lucky
enough to get a chance to make love to you, I would want all the lights on. I
wouldn’t want to miss a thing.”
A full body shudder ripped through her body.

Destroyed by Eva Dresden blitz

Destroyed
Eva Dresden
(Omega’s Destruction #3)
Publication date: February 13th 2020
Genres: Adult, Dark Romance, Omegaverse

Broken and damaged, Quinn refuses to be destroyed.

She rages against the bond Tobias Kahler forced her to complete between them, denying the pull of her claim set into his soul that fateful day. Struggling against the power of his will, she won’t become the smiling, placid thing he attempts to mold her to be.

An unseen foe seeks to take matters into their own hands, threatening Quinn and everything she holds dear. Forced to cling to Tobias for support and strength with the constant threat, he’s thrown into a whole new light. One where Quinn faces seeing him for more than the monster she’s feared and hated.

Amidst their violent past and ever turbulent future, they must learn to accept one another as they are or in this final battle, much more than bodies will lay broken.

Destroyed is the third and final book in the Omega’s Destruction Trilogy, a raw and thrilling Omegaverse tale. It is not a traditional romance, containing dark themes and complete power exchange. Scenes are not glossed over, which may be distressing for some readers.

Goodreads / Amazon

EXCERPT:

She was incomplete now. Not just bound to the man, subject to his will, but he in return. Tobias Kahler had gotten what he wanted the moment he forced her to claim him. He’d invaded not just her body, but her mind and soul far beyond the constraints of social acceptance. No one else would have dared to create the vicious circle between them, throwing away generations of beliefs and plunging headfirst into the taboo. Her will pitted against his was a small and frightened thing.

She never stood a chance against something so devious, so underhanded.

Quinn was the perfect slave now, or she would be once she’d been battered into complete submission. Something that she’d once sworn would never happen to her was an all too real probability now. Each day it was harder to fight her way free of the heady warmth, more difficult to deny the comfort and serenity that basking in his presence gave her. Surrounded on all sides as her sense of self was stripped away one tangled thread at a time, it was him, always him in her thoughts. One touch, one whiff of his scent, and she was lost.

“Shh, little bird. It’s all right,” he murmured against her shoulder, lips moving against the thick scars of his mark. Three bites, all mangling her skin into an atrocity that said she was his and would never escape it. The wet heat of his tongue moved over the wrinkled flesh, tasting the salt of her sweat, swallowing her down.

Whining into the sheets, she tried to jostle away as the sensation of working muscle, heady pleasure, and satisfaction assaulted her. They weren’t hers, but the lines separating Quinn from him were blurred, softening with every ragged breath. With him locked tight against her, she wasn’t going anywhere. Not until he released her.

He had no intentions of doing that anytime soon.

Author Bio:

Eva Dresden writes dark romance that lives up to its name with every turn of the page. Her heroines are tragic and strong, her heroes are anything but, and tearing characters apart to see what makes them really tick is a favored past time. Her cat is her staunchest supporter, provided there are treats involved.

The Relationshit Show by S. Cole

Title: The Relationshit Show
Author: S. Cole
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Release Date: February 13, 2020
Cover Design: Book Cover Kingdom

Once upon a time, there was a young girl who thought she found the love of her life at only fourteen years old . . . but after five years of puppy love combined with ‘we think we’re grown’ love, her fairy tale came to an end.

That girl was me.

I’m Cole and this is my story, my journey, and as it turned out, my hot mess of a dating life.

There are the guys who ghosted me and also the one who returned like a zombie again and again. There are drunken adventures and one night stands. There's even that time I became a bride for the span of a night.

While struggling with writer’s block and depression, I jotted it all down, kept the records, and now I’m ready to share it with you.

Yeah, you!

I’ve condensed it all into seventeen episodes of love, life, lust and the chaos of millennial dating. So get comfortable, grab your popcorn, some tissues, and of course that bottle of wine. It’s time to binge on your favorite reality star... me.

When he arrived, I ordered the Uber, and in no time, one showed up. We got dropped off at the restaurant. Driver earned extra points when he asked me if I wanted to order a large cheese dip. However, he lost points when he stuck his chip in the dip, sucked the cheese off of the chip, and then stuck said chip back into the queso. I was baffled and confused and hurt that he would treat the cheese dip that way.

“Why’d you do that?” I couldn’t help myself. I had to ask.

He shrugged his shoulders. “I like the cheese. I don’t like the chip.”

Blasphemy.

I decided to shrug it off. I mean, at least the man liked cheese. You may be shocked to know, I’ve dated some guys who don’t.

Extreme blasphemy.

After the crazy queso fiasco, things were all fine and dandy . . .

S. Cole, otherwise known as Shay, is kind of a hot mess. A fun hot mess, but a mess nonetheless. She gets shit done, but . . . ya get the point. Shay is a daughter, sister, friend, and great worker! She’s really awesome at all of those things, but she probably writes best. She has written stories for as long as she can remember. Like, at least since she was seven years old. That’s when she wrote her first book. Shay loved conjuring up stories so much, she continued writing them into her twenties. But now, she can drink while she’s doing it, so it’s even better! Maybe that’s why the characters that reside in her little black heart finally bothered her enough that she had to actually share them with readers. #winemademedoit

Shay grew up in a home where she was taught to embrace her inner nerd and creativity . . . and her short stature. At 5’1, Shay is that short girl who writes about the deranged and devious. For some reason, she strayed from her usual love of crime fiction to write something funny. She once told her friend ‘I write dark shit, but when I’m in a dark place, I’ve got to write light’.
